SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
As well as being recognized by the constant attention to details and to the quality of its products, Pancrom is also concerned with the protection of the environment. Therefore, the company has developed many actions that reduce the impacts of its activities in the environment. Some of them are the following:
FSC®
FSC ® is an international organization that promotes responsible forest management, and is one of the most recognized environmental certifications in the world. It establishes global standards for forest management, and has an associated logo mark. Products that bear the FSC logo originate from certified forests, that respect the FSC standards, growing trees in a way that is ecologically correct, socially fair and economically viable. Pancrom was certified by the FSC in 2009, and since then is producing printed materials made from FSC certified paper. |
Pancrom developed a system of Waste Management that monitors, classifies, separates and correctly discards all the residues resulted from the production process.
Such residues are taken by specialized and/or recycling companies that treat and give these residues the correct destination.
Pancrom has developed an advanced system that automatically collects leftover papers, which connects all the machines that discard a large quantity of paper. Afterwards, a recycling company is responsible for collecting the discarded paper.
Pancrom is aware that its environmental initiatives will not succeed if the employees were not aware of the importance of preserving the environment. That is why the company provides training, lectures and distributes educational materials regarding sustainability, global warming, recycling and how to obtain a more clean production, for instance.
With the purpose of reducing its energetic usage and working in a more ecological way, Pancrom has installed a system of solar panels that heats the water of the lavatories and dressing rooms. This system was developed in association with the NGO “Sociedade do Sol” (“Sun Society”), a non-profit organization located at USP (University of Sao Paulo).
Pancrom has developed a partnership with Instituto Reciclar, a non-profit organization located in Jaguaré (São Paulo).
Instituto Reciclar’s main goal is to offer educational opportunities and professional knowledge to more than 130 young people at vulnerable situations.
These young people learn, for instance, how to create gifts, packaging, cards and paper crafts produced with artisan paper, 100% recycled. The revenue coming from this is then used to maintain and develop the institutes’ social activities.
Pancrom has established a partnership with Instituto Reciclar, in order to produce its gifts and promotional materials. The company also supports the professionalization of these young adults assisted by the institute, offering guided visits through its headquarters and lectures of Graphic Production inside the institute.

“Clube dos Vira-Latas” (“The stray dogs club”) is a non-profit organization located in the city of Ribeirão Pires. Their work is to rescue stray dogs victims of road accidents and violence, and give them proper medical care and, most importantly, lots of love. After its recovery, the dogs are offered to adoption.
In 2013, Pancrom produced, without any cost, the 2014 wall calendar to the NGO, that featured several pictures of the stray dogs rescued by them.
The sale of this calendar helped the NGO to increase its income and, consequently, to help more dogs find a home.
